Our are little foster girl spends more time than we like to see her having to spend here. The vets and techs are very kind. We are here about every other week getting her medical needs tended to so that eventually she can be adopted. They are so overwhelmed that the reception area has now been turned into two examination rooms.
She no longer clings to the couch as a place of safety. She has her pick of dog beds. Her favorite place is on a huge dog bed in my bedroom, with pillows and blankets where she can nest. If I am not sure where she is I go check and 90% of the time there she is, safe, warm, and secure. She’d rather be in that bed than near the food and water since she is no longer desperate for food and water.
Normally, I post about her on dog mommy blog, but she is so precious she deserves her time on this blog as well.
Scarlett is just moving through our lives, although this is one little girl we will definitely miss when she is adopted.
I am very fond of Irish wolfhounds. I used to have an Irish wolfhound named Echo. Like Rosie she was a red. Rosie is three years old and has the wonderful IW temperament. She is just the friendliest dog. I’ve never met an Irish wolfhound that didn’t have a great temperament.
The sad thing is that they are like flowers that bloom in the spring. The average IW doesn’t live much longer than 7 to 10 years. And a 10-year-old Irish wolfhound is an ancient dog.
Echo lived to be about 7 1/2 years old. I hope that lovely Rosie lives to be a magnificent and healthy old lady. It was wonderful that her owner/handler brought her today so that many of us could either experience and IW for the first time or revisit memories of love lost.
The children all adored her. Even WLD enjoyed this giant girl.
