Driving back in the early morning I passed by closed farm stores in the Groton, Massachusetts area. This looks like a covered cart used for hay rides pulled by a tractor. The nearby farm market where I buy duck eggs now and then was so awash with morning light it lent itself to a Mobile Monet treatment.

Another mystery flower. Pretty little things. Native 4S camera, edited in snapseed, framed in BeFunky, watermarked with iWatermark. The iPhone is simply amazing.
Nature! Plants, especially, show such a joy of life! Give them just a little encouragement and they’ll joyously expand to take over all the available space. I get a kick out of tendrils shooting up through open spaces and shouting, “Me! Me first! Give me sun and rain and I’m on fire with life!”
Last night when I put the dog out for his late evening watering event I spied a brown butterfly on our BBQ grill cover. Why a butterfly and not a moth? Moths put their wings out when they rest, butterflies have them tucked into the upright position. There seems to be a butterfly configuration to his antennae and I bet his has a proboscis for feeding. Plus it was night and this little guy was sleeping soundly, so I figured, “Not a moth.” I spent some time online trying to see if I could come up with a species name, but nada. If anyone knows it, please share. This little critter – whether butterfly or moth – reminded me of brown stained glass. Very pretty.

Does this mean they like venison? Deer antlers make great openers for a barrel grill? A great sense of humor? All of the above? This neighbor always has something going on in his yard. 🙂
The odd trip down to Castle Island – each time you tour there are things that stick out more than others. The first time through it was the cannons that spoke to me. This time it was the flags. Same tour guide, too. How about that?
It’s impossible not to be drawn to these beautiful, end of summer flowers. Such a variety, and yet such wonderful colors.
Okay, maybe there is hope for Filtermania2. On a day when I’m in a mad rush and nothing presents itself because I’m overwhelmed, there is the opportunity to make something out of something not particularly memorable. In this case, it starts with some fried looking evergreen shrubs with a light pole. Uninteresting. But after I flipped through random filters and came up with a diverging path, then added some raindrops on a window (despite it being a hot and sunny day) and saved it, I was then able to adjust the color some in Snapseed to at least make the vegetation look green. Filtermania2 camera, filters (2), Snapseed editing for color adjustment and detail, (3) Instaframe and voila – today’s photo.
