There is a bird feeder with a nectar feeder on the back porch of this house. While I was there I saw 2 Cardinals, 1 Blue Jay, and 2 Woodpeckers. Very cool.
The title is a heads up to people who are against animal trophies. However, these were all taken many years ago. In fact, some of the animals look worn and tired since the taxidermy of the past isn’t what it is today.
They’re careful to explain that most of the animals were already dead when they were reclaimed and used for mounting. I don’t know where all of them were kept until the museum opened.

A feature in the Brookshire historical store staged from the 1920’s. I grew up in a small plains town where they still had this sort of display in the early 1950’s.

While he’s a “stray” (abandoned about 5 years ago) he’s got so much food set out for him that he’s starting to h ave trouble walking due to obesity. As problems go, obesity is something most “strays” don’t have to worry about. We connected on the morning walk and he got his morning ear scratch.

Out walking the dog and saw this little guy – no more than three inches from his nose to the tip of his tail. Every time I tried to get a shot of him he moved – probably thought I was going to munch him or something.
The software macro on Camera+ is pretty good. Was trying to turn the berries into more of a painting using iColorama. A work in progress.
