Today my DeafBlind customer and I went to a local restaurant with more TV screens than Times Square or downtown Tokyo, I swear. The noise was deafening. Being half-deaf has its benefits – I took out my hearing aid and was on an almost equal footing with my customer. Egads – what do hearing people find so appealing about incredibly noisy places like this? That being said, I’m not crazy about the one with hooting chimps, roaring gators and trumpeting elephants, either.
