  1. I realize you could probably care less, but that gear around the inside of that wheel would be the drive sprocket. It’s size is an indicator of the ratio to which the tractor was geared. With a sprocket that size, that tractor could have pulled a house up a tree!

    • I had no idea of the ratio regarding the interior drive sprocket and how much the tractor could pull. Any tree except, perhaps, a giant redwood couldn’t stand the strain of a house being pulled up the trunk. But it does tell you how hard farm work is in terms of pull power needed to disk, plow, harrow, etc. Wow. Kewl information. Thanks!
